British newspaper "The Daily Telegraph" revealed on Thursday that the
English Premier League, which has been suspended for more than two
months, will return on the seventeenth of next June.
The newspaper said in "Exclusive News", that the aforementioned day will
witness the holding of two Aston Villa meetings in the face of
Sheffield United and Manchester City with Arsenal.
The schedule for all matches has not been set yet, but the competition
will likely end on August 2, while the Federation Cup final will take
place in the week following the end of the league.
All English Premier League matches have been suspended since last March
due to the Corona epidemic, which has disrupted sports and other sectors
in the world.
On Wednesday, the English Premier League clubs unanimously agreed to
return to group training, including engagements between the players, so
that the competition could come to a close.
"Teams will now be able to train as a group and carry out engagements
while reducing unnecessary direct contact. The priority for the Premier
League is the health and well-being of all participants," a statement
said after the 20th championship meeting.
The clubs started last week the first phase of the "resumption of
activity" project, after agreeing to training in small groups without
combinations or frictions, under strict health restrictions.
After 29 games in the league, Liverpool leads the standings with 82
points, knowing that the team is about to win the title absent in 30
years.
