Guardiola Conference: Cancelo is ready for the first appearance .. And explains why David Silva distinguishes from others

Pep Guardiola - Liverpool Vs Manchester City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has announced that Joao Cancelo will be available for the first match of the squad after joining from Juventus.

The Spaniard also announced that Ukraine's Oleksandr Zinchenko was ready for Sunday's game after suffering a mild injury to Tottenham last week.

England defender John Stones remains out of the City squad, while Cancello has for the first time signed the local quartet shirt.

"Cancelo can participate," Pepe said at the press conference on the eve of the meeting. "He saw what I want in training and technical analysis, showing interest and professionalism and great quality."

Pepe was also happy to work with compatriot David Silva, who could play his 400th match.

"I didn't expect Silva to succeed in England so impressively, especially because of the physical abilities of the Premier League, but I am delighted that my gaze was wrong," Pepe said.

"Silva has an amazing personality, a player with a triumph spirit. What he likes most is numbers and 400 games. There are many bad moments and good moments. You can spend a good year, but almost 10 seasons at the club is something special."

He praised the 33-year-old, who is spending his last season at City: "It is a privilege for what he did with this club, and last season he can help us win."

"He is one of the most incredibly intelligent players in navigating small spaces. In spaces, everyone takes time and makes the right decision, but he is really good in small spaces, he must be very proud."

Manchester City, who stumbled the last round with a 2-2 draw at Tottenham, are away to Bournemouth.
